Course Overview

Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Identify the basic components of a computer and their functions
  • Demonstrate correct keyboarding techniques and posture and be able to use the mouse
  • Perform simple functions common to Windows, word processing, and other software packages
  • Demonstrate the ability to navigate through window components
  • Edit, save and retrieve documents
  • Create folders and subfolders and use windows to manage directories/folders and files
  • Utilize Web Browsers and Search Engines
  • Use the functions of the toolbars and use addresses and bookmarks
  • Navigate the web to find spots of interest
  • Explain the function of hypertext and links
  • Apply principals of Netiquette when on-line
  • Download and save documents
  • Access e-mail - create and read an email message and attach files
  • Save e-mail attachment
  • Demonstrate how to delete or trash messages

Participants must be at least 16-years old, unless otherwise noted.

Books are available at the bookstore, prices quoted are approximate. The same payment methods listed above are accepted. There are no refunds for textbooks or materials.

Withdrawal/Refunds: Requests for withdrawal from Continuing Education courses must be made within 20% of course duration. Refunds may take 4-6 weeks to process. An administrative fee may apply.
