International Student Support

At NBCC we recognize the need for support as learners from around the world join us for their learning journey. You are not alone on this journey, our Student Success Coaches are here to help and assist learners in their transition to NBCC and encourage growth and development throughout their college experience.

We seek to empower students to identify and achieve their educational, personal, and professional goals through coaching sessions and connecting them with resources within and beyond NBCC.

Nitap (Peer) Mentor Program

Nitap (pronounced nee-dap) is understood in each of the local Indigenous languages (Mi'kmaq, Wolastoqiyik, and Peskotomuhkati) as 'friend'.

As a Nitap Mentor, you will offer peer/group support & guidance to other NBCC learners as they transition to college life. You will be able to provide impactful change by providing friendship and creating opportunities for greater visibility, awareness, and support of equity deserving community members on campus, including Indigenous, international, and 2SLGBTQIA+ students.

As an experienced learner, you will share your own experiences in navigating college life and living in eastern Canada.

Nitap Mentors will also support cultural experiences and participate in planning and delivery as a member of the Student Services Team.
