Getting Started

Program-Specific Requirements

Every NBCC program is unique! For program-specific requirements such as criminal record and vulnerable sector checks, immunization requirements, and more, refer to the “Specific Considerations” section of your program page.

Technology Requirements

Click here for program-specific technology requirements. Technology typically comes in the form of a laptop but must meet the program technology requirements listed.

NBCC is a connected, MS Windows learning environment. While not all programs have the same technology requirements, all learners must have access to the internet to allow for full educational experience. Free Wi-Fi is provided on all campuses.

IT Services for Learners

Visit our IT Services for Students website to learn about what software and services are available to you. Check out the Get Started page for a quick overview on how to activate your account and other important information. Please direct all IT-related requests and questions to the NBCC Service Desk or by calling 1-855-216-6688.

Other Important Information

All Learners
  • Student Services: The NBCC Student Services Team is here to support you every step of the way! Learn more about the services and support that will be available to you as an NBCC Learner.
  • Peer Mentor Program: Get connected to a Peer Mentor! Peer Mentors offer support, guidance, and insight to answer questions about cultural support and student services available on campus and in your community. Learn more about NBCC’s Peer Mentor Program
  • Meet Your NBCCSU: The NBCC Student Union (NBCCSU) operates independently of NBCC and represents the student voice at each of our six campus locations. The NBCCSU provides students with many services including Health & Dental Benefits, Student Discounts, My Wellness Plan, My Virtual Doctor, Bright Breaks – Free Virtual Fitness & Wellness Sessions, Student Emergency Food Cupboards, and much more! Each NBCC campus also has a Student Life Officer (SLO) available to support local Student Union representatives and all NBCC students.

Check out the NBCCSU events page to sign-up for upcoming events and see what’s happening at your campus.
  • Money Matters: NBCC understands that being a student and managing expenses can be a challenging and overwhelming experience. We offer financial support and services to help you access financial resources, create and manage a budget, find part-time work, and provide tips to help you stretch your money further. Visit our Financial Resources page for more information.
  • Housing in New Brunswick: Canada is currently experiencing a nationwide housing crisis, resulting in a shortage of available rental properties across New Brunswick. As an incoming learner, it is critical that you secure short-term accommodation for the first month of your studies (at minimum) prior to your arrival. Please note, NBCC does not have on-campus housing and it is each learner’s responsibility to secure their own accommodation. Take some time to view some great short video resources to help you along your way on NBCC's Housing webpage. For housing information specific to your community, review the International Student Quick Guide for your campus.
  • Childcare: We encourage learners with children to explore available childcare options in your campus community prior to arrival. NBCC does not offer childcare services and children are not permitted in classrooms or labs. It is also important to note that children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times while on campus.
  • Citizenship Status: If you are a new learner and discover incorrect information regarding your citizenship status during registration, email admissions@nbcc.ca or call 1-888-796-6222. If you are a returning student and noticed a citizenship error, email nbcc@nbcc.ca.
  • Have a question?: Check out our Contact Us.

  • IT International Travel Student Checklist: If you are travelling from an international country to an NBCC campus location, we highly recommend you review the Information Technology International Travel Student checklist (pdf or video guide) to ensure you don’t get locked out of your IT account; that you purchase the proper technology for your program; and that you are prepared to be supported by our IT team should you require any assistance.
