Education: P. Eng., Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Acadia and the Technical University of Nova Scotia, Master’s degree in Defence Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada, graduate of Institute of Corporate Directors Education Program.

Experience: Mark served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a combat engineer officer for 22 years and was deployed on international operations in Croatia, Bosnia and Afghanistan. He commanded 1 Combat Engineer Regiment in Edmonton, AB. He spent four years as the CEO of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta. Mark relocated to New Brunswick in 2017.

Behind the Scenes: For three years, Mark served as a board member and vice-chair of the Telus World of Science in Edmonton, AB. He and his wife, Anne have two children who are now young adults.

Mark on NBCC: Skilled tradespeople are vital to New Brunswick’s economy. The role that NBCC takes as a leader in the development of young people is therefore a key part of the prosperity of the province. Ensuring NBCC has high quality programs and staff will create the conditions needed for our new workforce to flourish. I am very much looking forward to contributing to this important piece of New Brunswick’s future.
