Intelligent Community Institute Canada (Atlantic)

Intelligent Community Forum Institute Canada (Atlantic)Welcome to the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) Institute Canada (Atlantic) where we are dedicated to shaping the future of urban living. As the world's population continues to grow, it is estimated that up to 3 million people are currently moving each week to cities and that by 2050, city dwellers will outnumber rural dwellers by a ratio of 2:1. This rapid urbanization brings common challenges related to infrastructure, mobility, safety and governance.

At the ICF Institute Canada (Atlantic), we believe that cities of the future must be connected, sustainable, accessible and responsive to the needs of their citizens. Equally importantly, they must also provide transparency to their stakeholders via data, insights and policies determined by the latest smart-city technologies. Leveraging technologies such as the Internet of things (IoT), mixed reality and artificial intelligence (AI), we are committed to providing data-driven insights and innovative solutions that support economic development, enhance the quality of life for all citizens and simultaneously preserve the legacy values of the city.

Fredericton, New Brunswick’s third-largest city, is experiencing unprecedented growth due to its economy, knowledge sector and highly desirable lifestyle. To meet the needs of this expanding community, New Brunswick Community College (NBCC), the province’s second largest post-secondary institution with 6 campuses and over 10,000 students, is proud to host the ICF Institute Canada (Atlantic) in partnership with the Intelligent Community Forum.

Our mission is to enhance the economic and social well-being of the Fredericton region and beyond. We achieve this by undertaking smart-city applied research to implement solutions for the region’s challenges; developing a network of thought leaders, investors, and stakeholders in support of the intelligent community process; serving as a facility for others to visit and learn by example; training municipal officials and instructors (training the trainers); and connecting to ICF’s membership of nearly 200 global members.

Join us at the ICF Institute Canada (Atlantic) as we help create inclusive and accessible intelligent communities, ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.
