Wellness and Counselling

At NBCC, your wellbeing is priority.  We understand that your college experience is more than just academics – it’s a time of growth, discovery and sometimes, challenges.  That’s why we’ve developed supports designed to help you thrive both in and out of the classroom.   From student activities (such as wellness fairs, animal visits), mental health, academic supports to help preparing for the job market, we offer workshops, wellness activities, and access to online resources to ensure you have the tools you need to thrive.

We Can help you with:

  • Help with resolving academic trouble
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Mental health and wellness
  • Personal crisis
  • Anxiety
  • Educational planning
  • Transition to community services

Counselling Resources and Support

Online Mental Health Support

  • myWellness provides immediate counselling support and resources for students experiencing mental health issues through virtual counselling, and tools that help with student-life and mental-health balance, available 24/7. Find more details on your myWellness Program.
  • Bridge the gapp is an online resource designed to support mental wellness. View more details.

Sexual Violence Resources and Support

NBCC students have access to Sexual Violence Support Advocates Hilary Swan and Megen Gaudet who, together, offer support to survivors of sexual violence. This goes beyond providing resources and allows survivors to develop a personal connection with someone and find a safe place to feel heard, believed, and validated while they work to explore options available to survivors.
