Our counselling and career services provide a stepped care approach, offering students options to receive support in a variety of ways. From individual counselling sessions by phone or video chat, to self-directed online resources, students have choices to take charge of improving their wellbeing and academic success. Talk Campus App

The Talk Campus app provides a global health support network allowing students access to instant, virtual support at any time of day, for as long as needed. TalkCampus is based on peer support with students supporting students, however, the platform is safeguarded by a professional team who moderate and escalate issues as needed in real-time. To access the free platform, download the app to your iOS or Android device and create an account using your NBCC email address.


myWellness

myWellness is an award-winning mental health and wellness program designed for Canadian post-secondary students. The program supports students in putting their feelings into words, connects them with resources both on and off campus, helps in navigating them from awareness to care, and provides quick and easy access to online video counselling. 2SLGBTQIA+ Wellness Coordinator

Cassidy Wilson is the 2SLGBTQIA+ Wellness Coordinator for NBCC, UNB, and STU. Cassidy graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Masters of Education in Counselling, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mount Royal University, in Calgary, AB. During her time in Calgary, Cassidy developed a passion for working with and supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, dedicating many hours volunteering with an outreach youth group that provided a safe place for queer and trans youth to come and seek shelter, comradery and good food. She practices from a gender and sexuality affirming position, and has a passion for education outreach.

Cassidy’s approach to supporting students, is through collaboration, and advocacy. Students can reach out to Cassidy to discuss topics including personal wellbeing, self-advocacy, discrimination and/or complaints related to oppressive learning environments, academics, and more!

Other services:

  • Referrals to helpful resources such as counselling, legal supports, systems navigation, and medical services
  • Advocacy for academic considerations, financial aid, residence matters, and accessibility needs
  • Support navigating services and resources within the college/university and the community
  • Educational workshops in response to the needs of students, faculty, and staff
  • Community building and collaboration to help build sense of belonging on campuses for 2SLGBTQIA+ students, faculty and staff
