Back in Form Training

The goal of WorkSafeNB’s Back In Form (BIF) training system is to reduce the frequency and severity of musculoskeletal injuries.

Training sessions can be offered at your facility or one of our 6 campus locations.

NBCC’s Master Trainers are qualified to customize training for employees in  your workplace. Employees will understand that the prevention of MSIs is everyone’s responsibility and that addressing the risk factors in the workplace may require changes in work habits. Employees will understand that they must follow all BIF policies and procedures, learn to recognize their own physical limitations, conduct safe body mechanics and incorporate accepted and approved manual handling techniques into their daily work practices.

NBCC’s Master Trainers are qualified to deliver Train-the –Trainer sessions to those individuals who would like to be able to train employees in their own workplace. At the completion of this training program, trainers are capable of performing, demonstrating, assessing, and providing corrective feedback on posture and safe body mechanics as they relate to specific manual handling techniques. They are also capable of problem solving difficult manual handling scenarios, presenting educational material and assisting the workplace with the implementation of the tools necessary to sustain an MSIP program.

Persons qualifying to become a trainer will have:

  • Participated and completed BIF training at the employee level.
  • Abilities in coaching and mentoring colleagues.
  • Formal teaching credentials or formalized instructional techniques training for adult learners, or experience instructing adult learners.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience
NBCC’s Master Trainers are qualified to deliver this refresher session and audit trainers’ knowledge and skills.  WorkSafeNB requires active trainers to be re-certified every three years.

Payment of course fees is required at time of registration. We accept cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard, Money Order or cheque payable to New Brunswick Community College (NBCC).

Participants must be at least 16-years old, unless otherwise noted.

Books are available at the bookstore, prices quoted are approximate. The same payment methods listed above are accepted. There are no refunds for textbooks or materials.

Withdrawal/Refunds: Requests for withdrawal from Continuing Education courses must be made within 20% of course duration. Refunds may take 4-6 weeks to process. An administrative fee may apply.
