Do you enjoy working with your hands and being in nature? Ever thought about working on a farm?
One of the essential duties of farm employees is working the land to optimize the fertility and nutrients of the soil used to grow healthy crops.
NBCC offers an 8-week Agriculture Essentials: Plants program to develop qualified workers for the New Brunswick farming sector.
Students are introduced to basic plant science principles and terminology, plant anatomy and morphology, and concepts relating to plant nutrition and water transport. Students explore integrated pest management practices and gain an understanding of proper environmental parameters to optimize plant growth and health.
This microcredential program focuses on learning basic skills to grow and maintain healthy crops from the beginning to the end of the production lifecycle.
Upon successful completion of the program, students earn a microcredential in Agriculture Essentials: Plants. The microcredential is issued to the students as a digital badge to display on their LinkedIn, resume, or social media. The digital badge is validated proof of the competencies learned in the program.
