We love to see NBCC students following in their family members footsteps.  If you’re an NBCC alumni and have a son, daughter, or grandchild who is enrolled in a NBCC program, they’re eligible to apply for the NBCC Alumni Family Scholarship.

This Scholarship has been established in order to support and encourage future generations of NBCC alumni members and to give back to the NBCC Alumni family.  Two scholarships are awarded annually to children or grandchildren of past NBCC graduates.

NBCC Alumni Association is proud to provide this scholarship as a benefit & as a means of giving back to our alumni and future alumni.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be the child1 or grandchild of an NBCC Alumni (children of staff are not eligible)
  • Be enrolled in an NBCC program for the current academic year2
  • Have demonstrated community/volunteer service
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Have a minimum of 85% average or higher on their last transcript.
  • Submit a brief essay about what it means to be following in their parent’s/grandparents footsteps at NBCC

Selection Process

  • Nominations will be requested in the fall with a deadline of October 31 of each year.
  • Nomination forms and submitting instructions will be available via the NBCC Alumni and NBCC website.
  • The selection committee will consist of; Three Alumni; The NBCC Alumni Coordinator, The NBCC Alumni Administrative Assistant.
  • The selection committee will review the applications and make a recommendation to the Director of Advancement by November 30.

Recognition

  • The two selected recipients will receive the award during the winter bursary ceremony held at the applicable campus
  • Parents/Grandparents of the award recipient will be invited to present the award when possible
  • Confirmation of student enrolment will be required prior to awarding the scholarship

Value

  • There are two scholarships valued at $1000 each awarded annually
  • The funds for the bursary will be generated from revenues earned annually by the NBCC Alumni Association
