Are you ready to turn up the heat on your welding career?

NBCC is offering a 6-week Pressure Welding: Plate microcredential.

You’ll learn welding techniques and theory-based knowledge to perform groove welds on butt joints using electrodes from the F3 classification as per ASME section IX. Position order is as follows: F/H/V/OH (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).

You’ll spend 90% of the instruction time practicing welding techniques under guided supervision. Once all positions have been practiced, an all-positions destructive bend test will be performed to evaluate your welds. You must be successful in each section of the guided bend test to advance to the next position.

Once you successfully earn the Pressure Welding: Plate microcredential, testing for the Class BF3 Plate Ticket is possible, but at the discretion of your instructor. The test fee is an additional cost.

Goals

To perform open root groove welds safely in all positions using the F3 electrode classification.
