Indigenous Student Advisor Team

At NBCC, our students always remain at the centre of everything we do. Indigenous Student Advisors provide academic, financial and cultural support services to students.

Indigenous Student Advisors (ISAs) are here to support Indigenous students in their learning journey at NBCC and to assist in accessing the many supports and services that NBCC has to offer.

Indigenous Student Advisors serve as:

  • A liaison to Indigenous services at our six campuses.
  • A peer support, providing academic coaching, financial support (identifying bursaries, scholarships and potential funding sources) and cultural support to students and staff.
  • A host for activities throughout the year such as Elder visits, Indigenous teachings, and cultural sharing events.
  • And assist students with making connections to future employers and bridging to the workplace.

Connect with NBCC’s Indigenous Community

Each campus has an Indigenous gathering space. This is a safe and peaceful space to meet other students, study, learn about Indigenous culture and more. We also have an online Facebook community, all are welcome to join.
