Want to explore the different trades used in the manufacturing sector?

Here's a chance for grade 11 & 12 students to explore various manufacturing trades as future career options - and even pick up valuable employability skills in the process.

NBCC is offering an 8-week Manufacturing Fundamentals microcredential program as part of the work-integrated learning partnership between Marshall Skills Academy Canada, New Brunswick Community College (NBCC), and University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNB).

This program will provide a basic introduction to several trades, including additional opportunities to build employability skills. Learners will also be assessed by the college and employers for future training and employment opportunities at a technician, technologist, or engineering level via the Earn as You Learn pathway that can be entered after completing grade 12.

Program cohorts will be offered in either Moncton or Saint John.

Goals

To prepare learners for employment in the manufacturing sector and to expose them to various manufacturing careers and the educational pathways required for success in those roles.

Program Courses

  • Workplace safety
  • Tools and equipment
  • Manufacturing trades experience
  • Blueprint reading
  • Quality control
