Hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs) aren't "the future" anymore—they're here.
With the push for lower emissions and cleaner transportation, drivers are gradually shifting to EVs — and that means there will be a growing demand for automotive service technicians with the right expertise.
The challenge? Servicing EVs isn't the same as working on gas-powered cars. Automotive service technicians now need specialized skills in high-voltage batteries, electric motors, and complex electronics—it's a whole new ballgame.
The Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician Microcredential is your chance to expand your skill set and stay competitive in this evolving industry. In just 90 hours, you’ll gain the knowledge and hands-on experience to service, diagnose, and maintain hybrid and electric vehicles—all aligned with the 2023 Red Seal Occupational Standards.
Complete the Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician microcredential and earn a digital badge as proof of your achievement. You can share this badge on your resume, LinkedIn profile, e-portfolio, or other digital platforms. Employers will be able to see your skills and know exactly what you’ve learned, as the badge highlights your proven abilities.
At a minimum, completion of Level 3 of the Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship Program (proof of completion is required).
