This microcredential is designed to introduce learners to the impact of trauma on development and behaviour. Learners will explore trauma-informed approaches to build relationships that support children and youth who have experienced complex trauma. A focus will be placed on strategies that support the development of resiliency, self-regulation, and competence while guiding behaviour.
Upon successful completion of the course Child & Youth Community-Based Care: Trauma & Behaviour, the learner will earn a microcredential. A visual representation of the microcredential is issued to the learner as a digital badge. The learner can share the digital badge on a resume, LinkedIn profile, e-portfolio, or other digital network allowing employers to see what the learner can do as it shows evidence of the assessed competencies.
Note: If the learner has prior knowledge that is equivalent to some or all the competencies for this microcredential, they may be a good candidate for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR). See details on the program page.
