Q: Who can apply for Continuing Education courses?
Just about anyone can apply (age 16 and older) to take Continuing Education courses. In some of our courses, there may be specific criteria or other prerequisites identified. Please contact us if you have any questions – 1-833-658-2577, or email – ContinuingEd@nbcc.ca
Q: Are there prerequisites for NBCC Continuing Education courses?
A few of our courses do have prerequisites, mainly our computer courses and certification courses. Each course identified on this site or in our academic calendar will have a prerequisite listed if there happens to be one.
Quite a few of the courses offered through Continuing Education are governed by outside bodies. NBCC’s Continuing Education must follow the guidelines as set forth by the governing body.
Q: I am an adult learner who has not been in class a long time. Will I be comfortable taking a class?
Absolutely. Our courses are designed with the adult learner in mind. It doesn't matter if you graduated last year or if you haven't set foot in a classroom in years. We will do everything possible to make your learning experience enjoyable.
Q: How do I pay for a Continuing Education course (Courses (nbcc.ca)) if I do not have Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit or MasterCard Debit?
If you do not have a credit card or credit/debit card, you are welcome to register and pay in person with Student Services located at your nearest campus (you cannot register online and then pay in person). Payment methods accepted in person include cash and cheque ONLY.
Q: Can I use a prepaid credit card to pay tuition?
No, prepaid credit cards may not be used.
Q: How soon should I register for a course?
Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. You may register for a course any time up until the day of the course. It is recommended that you register for the course as soon as possible, to a minimum of three days before the course is scheduled to take place. If you register early you will have a better chance of securing a seat. Please note, if there are not enough registrations for a course it may be cancelled.
Q: When is payment due?
Payment is required upon registration in the course.
Q: What is your policy if I withdraw from the course?
Please Note: Some courses have refund policies that replace the general refund policy (see specific course descriptions for more details).
Q: What is your policy if you cancel the course?
Sometimes it is necessary for us to cancel a course. Reasons for this may be low registration or an instructor conflict. In the event that your course is cancelled you will be given a full refund.
