IT: Cybersecurity (Advanced Placement)

The Cybersecurity Advanced Placement is a pathway option for direct entry into the second year of the Cybersecurity two-year graduate diploma program.  Applicants must demonstrate a diploma or degree in Network Administration or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution, which includes training in the following domains:

  • Networking – routing and switching
  • Linux Administration
  • Cloud computing
  • Windows server administration

These domains are typically covered by diplomas or degrees in Network Administration.  Diplomas or degrees in areas such as Computer Science/programming and equivalents do not typically provide training in these domains and will not qualify for advanced placement.

The Cybersecurity Advanced Placement option will be available when you apply online.  All applications to the Advanced Placement option will be reviewed before acceptances are issued.

IMPORTANT: Do not apply for the Advanced Placement option unless your previous post-secondary education aligns with the above requirements; otherwise, you will have to re-apply to the Cybersecurity Graduate Diploma program, resulting in application processing delays.
