The Board of Governors of New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) has re-elected Wes McLean as Chair and elected Scott Grant as Vice-Chair for the 2026-2027 academic year, effective July 1, 2026.
“While NBCC is navigating a period of tremendous disruption, I am committed to ensuring the College remains well positioned to not just survive, but thrive, in the years ahead,” said McLean. “NBCC is vital to the development of our province and its people, and I’m honoured to continue serving in this role and to work alongside the incredible individuals who make up our Board.”
McLean is a Senior Consultant at the Capital Hill Group, where he advocates on behalf of a multitude of clients, to governments across Canada. From 2010 to 2014, he served as a Member of the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly as Deputy Government House Leader and Legislative Secretary to the Premier. For years, he was an advisor to governments in Manitoba, New Brunswick and Ottawa. McLean is also actively involved in his community and has served on various advisory boards for more than 20 years. He is a recipient of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal.
“After three years of service on the Board of Governors, I continue to be inspired by NBCC’s critical role in preparing students to contribute to a strong and competitive New Brunswick workforce,” added Grant.
A progressive leader with more than 25 years of experience in marketing and sales with Atlantic Lottery, Grant currently serves as the organization’s Director of Optimization. He has a strong track record of developing high-performance teams and delivering innovative experiences across retail, digital, and community channels.
“Strong governance is essential as we continue to evolve to meet the needs of our learners and our province,” said Mary Butler, President and CEO of NBCC. “Wes and Scott bring thoughtful leadership and a deep understanding of our mandate, and I look forward to working with them as we continue to strengthen NBCC’s impact across New Brunswick.”
