Fall 2025 program changes

NBCC remains committed to delivering education that works and investing in programming that will drive economic and social well-being across New Brunswick. An important part of this commitment is regularly reviewing all NBCC programs to ensure they align with provincial labour market needs and student interests.

Enrolment projections for the Fall 2025 term have been impacted by a combination of factors, including low domestic interest in certain programs and the outcome of recent regulatory changes to the International Student Program. Despite extensive efforts to increase awareness and engagement, some programs have not seen the expected level of interest from prospective students.

In response, we are refocusing our efforts and resources and making several program changes ahead of the Fall 2025 term.

2025-26 Program Changes

Suspensions: Programs removed from the enrolment plan for the upcoming academic year. This is typically done in cases of low applicant interest or when programs require revision. Suspended programs may be added back to future enrolment plans.

Cancellations: Programs permanently removed from the enrolment plan. This typically happens where we have seen multiple years of low applicant interest, low employer demand or where there is duplication of content and outcomes with other programs.

Students currently enrolled in these programs will not be impacted by these decisions and will continue to completion. Our Enrolment and Admissions teams will work closely with any affected applicants to identify other NBCC options that will enable them to meet their educational aspirations.

These decisions have been made after careful consideration and extensive analysis of current trends and future needs. These changes will allow us to focus on those programs that best align with the evolving needs of the province's workforce. We remain committed to supporting our students and communities and will continue to adapt our offerings to ensure NBCC remains a vital resource for education and training in New Brunswick.
