For the first time, NBCC has earned a spot on Research Infosource Inc’s list of the Top 50 Research Colleges in Canada for 2022, coinciding with the 10^th anniversary of NBCC’s Applied Research and Innovation department. Among medium-sized colleges, NBCC ranked sixth in research partnerships, 11^th in research funding, and 16^th in completed research and student researchers.

“As we celebrate a decade of applied research at NBCC, this designation recognizes the tremendous value of the work our staff and students do to help communities and industries find solutions to the challenges that are holding them back,” said Ann Drennan, Vice President, Academic, Innovation, and Student Affairs at NBCC. “It’s another example of extraordinary people doing extraordinary work across NBCC to transform New Brunswick’s workforce.”

Over 10 years, 2,600 NBCC students and staff have been engaged in applied research projects that have advanced solutions for hundreds of businesses and community organizations. Research projects in areas ranging from cybersecurity, to energy efficiency, healthy aging in place for seniors, and advanced manufacturing have contributed significantly to the province’s economic and social wellbeing.
