Gift to help build connected, adaptive learning spaces
Gil-Son Construction Ltd. has donated $50,000 to support important facilities upgrades at NBCC as part of the College’s $16-million Going Beyond campaign.
The gift will enable NBCC to enhance spaces on campuses that help learners connect, study, and work together.
"Students benefit from modern, future-forward spaces that foster enhanced learning by setting the stage for collaboration, relationship-building, and inter-disciplinary connection," said Mary Butler, President and CEO of NBCC. "With the support of donors like Gil-Son Construction Ltd., our learners will be able to thrive in the kinds of vibrant spaces that inspire excellence and innovation.”
To recognize this gift, NBCC has named two spaces after the company — the Gil-Son Construction Ltd. Student Lounge at Moncton Campus and the Gil-Son Construction Ltd. Carpentry Shop at Saint John Campus.
“Gil-Son Construction believes that by supporting the Going Beyond initiative, we will be able to provide opportunities for students to learn which in turn, helps grow future local talent,” said Daniel Hiltz, President, Gil-Son Construction Ltd. “This is essential in fostering success, both to the NBCC community and to our company.”
