FREDERICTON –The Board of Governors of New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) has elected Patrick Lacroix as Board Chair and Lindsay Bowman as Vice-Chair for the 2018-2019 year. The appointments took effect on July 1, 2018.

“NBCC’s Board of Governors is committed to providing the effective governance needed to ensure that our College and our learners continue to make significant contributions to New Brunswick’s economic and social fabric,” said Lacroix. “We look forward to working with staff and students to continue transforming lives and communities.”

Patrick Lacroix has been a member of the NBCC Board of Governors since 2015. With a career that spans over 20 years of progressively senior public affairs experience, Patrick is currently the Director of Public Relations and Communications at Energie NB Power. He is a past Executive Director of Elementary Literacy Inc., and member of the Board of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation.

A member of the NBCC Board of Governors since 2017, Lindsay Bowman is a lawyer who has just joined Connors Stilwell in Fredericton after serving as the Director of Research at the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF). She also serves on the boards of the Multicultural Association of Fredericton and BioNB and is a past board chair of the Moncton YWCA.

The NBCC Board also recently welcomed three new Governors:

  • Lori Clark, Senior Vice-President, Operations – NB Power, Fredericton
  • Mark Flint, Vice-President, Fleet Maintenance – Midland Transport, Dieppe
  • Jill Stairs, Chartered Professional Accountant – Partner at Daye Kelly & Associates, Fredericton

Lacroix thanked outgoing Board Chair L. Paul Elliott and outgoing Board members, John Kowtaluk and Jennifer O’Donnell, for their outstanding service to NBCC, and welcomed the new members.

Marilyn Luscombe, NBCC’s President and CEO, emphasized the importance of the Board to the College’s strategic direction and stakeholder accountability.

“As NBCC continues to implement our new five-year strategic plan, we know we can depend upon the guidance, direction and dedication of our Board of Governors,” said Luscombe. “We welcome the leadership that Patrick and Lindsay will bring to the Board as we build upon our strong foundation and usher in an exciting and boundless future.”
