NBCC to recognize Alumni Award recipients at special ceremony

Media are invited to attend a celebration of NBCC’s inaugural 2015 Alumni Recognition Award recipients who will be formally recognized on September 8 at a special ceremony at Government House in Fredericton.

The Honourable Jocelyne Roy Vienneau, Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick; and Lois Scott, Chair, Board of Governors of NBCC, will host four outstanding alumni, along with other special guests including the Honourable Francine Landry, Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour; Marilyn Luscombe, President and CEO of NBCC; and award nominees.

The recipients of the 2015 NBCC Alumni Recognition Awards are:

  • FRIEND OF NEW BRUNSWICK: Robin Hanson (Class of ’72) As an entrepreneur, artist and activist, he has devoted his life to protecting, preserving and promoting our province.
  • COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP: Patrick King (Class of ’92) An active volunteer since high school, Patrick’s community leadership has had impact and been recognized at both the local and most recently with the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award.
  • ENTREPRENEUR: Wesley (Wes) Armour (Class of ’66) Under his leadership, Armour Transportation Systems has grown from a small family business to one of Canada’s Best Managed companies and a leader in environmental and social sustainability.
  • OUTSTANDING YOUNG ALUMNA: Hannah McGee (Class of ’09) With a passion for people, Hannah has quickly advanced from her start as a summer student at the famed Algonquin Resort Hotel to holding a senior Human Resource leadership position at the re-launched resort.
