I chose to go to NBCC because I was looking for a practical course that would allow me to enter the workforce quickly with skills that employers were looking for.
I remember my time at NBCC being challenging. In my first year, I suffered the loss of my younger brother to cancer. It was just before exams and I will always remember the instructors kindness as we worked together to get through very difficult times. I felt that instructors knew me (I was not a number) and together we worked out a plan to keep me on track with my courses. That was 30+ years ago and I am still grateful today.
After graduating from NBCC, I was fortunate to be hired by RBC directly from NBCC. I spent 18 years in the financial industry with RBC. That foundation, lead me to start my own business as a Mortgage Broker in 2008.
Some of my professional accomplishments and community involvement include:
Business & Professional Women of Greater Moncton (BPW)
Greater Moncton Home Builders Association
Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce
BNB Networking Group
Co-Chair for CFUW BPW annual book fair
AFS Cultural Exchange Program: Volunteer & host family
The great thing about NBCC is that it prepares you for the real world, and when you walk through your employer’s door, you are prepared.
