Digitalization Module Study Abroad in the Netherlands

Here’s your chance to participate in a 10-day digitalization-themed study abroad program at Aventus in Apeldoorn, Netherlands with students from Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Portugal and Nova Scotia Community College.

Aventus offers over 200 different vocational education and training programs and welcomes 11,000 students annually. They are organizing a unique study abroad opportunity designed to equip student participants with essential digitalization skills while fostering a global perspective and an international collaborative mindset. This experience will prepare participants for the dynamic and interconnected world of digital technology.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore various aspects of digitalization, including:

  • Digital design
  • Cybersecurity
  • Media creation (podcasts, vlogs, etc.)
  • Drone operations
  • Artificial intelligence

This module is designed to provide a broad introduction to digitalization for students with varying levels of digital expertise, from beginner to intermediate.

Throughout the module, various activities will also be organized to allow students to experience the unique and enriching Dutch culture, traditions, and lifestyle.

Dates of Study in the Netherlands: May 7 - 17, 2025


Housing

Students will stay in shared, dorm-style rooms at Stayokay Hostel Gorssel, located near Deventer. Transportation between the hostel and Aventus will be provided. Additionally, students will have access to bicycles.


Cost

The BIDS Inclusion module, funded by Erasmus+, will select two students and one NBCC instructor to participate. Each participant will receive a subsidy to cover their travel costs.


Application Prerequisites

  • Open to any current NBCC student interested in expanding their digitalization skills.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid passport by April 4, 2025 (Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the Netherlands).
