Kim Gallant
NBCC Instructor
The NBCC Business Administration Program is as diverse as business itself, providing students with the fundamental knowledge and skills for success in business and management. The broad range of courses provide unique career opportunities including options in accounting, payroll, marketing, insurance and risk management, human resources, entrepreneurship, international business management and leadership. Students are equipped with a wealth of practical experience through simulations of real world business situations, working with a team to find probable solutions to practical problems.
It was great to interact with the students and nice to see recommendations that were developed by a group of students who viewed solutions based on a different generational view than my own.
This project brought together Barbour Foods with Business Administration faculty from the Moncton campus and their students to research innovative solutions to staffing retention issues. Barbour Foods approached NBCC Instructor Kim Gallant seeking assistance with addressing recruitment and retention barriers they have been facing as a rural business. Students in the Organizational Behavior class of the Business Administration Program presented their innovative findings in class and Barbour’s also gave an impactful and interactive presentation to the students, demonstrating how the student solutions would benefit Barbour Foods.
