Customized Lab Kits

Led by instructor Lori Kelly, NBCC’s practical nurse program introduced customized lab kits into the classroom giving students a set of simulation devices from which to learn a variety of health care procedures. The kits, which are portable and can be customized to each student’s learning track, enable students to practice and gain confidence in their skills. In the first year trial students and instructors tested five customized lab kits to evaluate their benefits and effectiveness as active learning tools.
