The Strategic Leadership program is designed to prepare managers and aspiring managers with the knowledge and skills needed to become effective and successful leaders. Emphasis is placed on goal setting, motivation, time management, communication skills, and leadership styles. The program combines instruction with hands-on activities, allowing learners the opportunity to refine their leadership abilities in real-world scenarios.

Introduction to Leadership and Goal Planning
This course is designed to provide learners with a structured approach to setting and achieving impactful goals. Learners explore effective planning systems, strategies to overcome obstacles, and develop an actional plan that aligns with professional and organizational objectives.		Apr 15

This course is designed to provide learners with a strong foundation in leadership by exploring self-awareness, motivation, and key traits of effective leaders. Learners reflect on their strengths, identify growth opportunities, and discuss strategies to develop leadership skills.		May 13
Time Management
This course is designed to support the development of time management skills required to prioritize high-impact tasks, leverage strengths, and address inefficiencies. Learners explore tools and strategies for effective planning, productivity, and boundary-setting to align tasks with long-term goals.		Jun 10
Leadership Styles and Coaching
This course is designed to support the development of leadership and coaching skills. Learners explore leadership styles and key coaching techniques to empower and lead others effectively. Through reflection, learners gain insights into how to adapt their approach to achieve organizational goals and enhance team engagement.		Jul 8
Communication and Leadership
This course is designed to support the development of effective communication skills for leadership and team success. Learners explore verbal and non-verbal communication elements and how these impact trust and message delivery. This course covers strategies for overcoming barriers and techniques to ensure focused, clear, and effective communication. 		Aug 5
Feedback and Motivation
This course is designed to support the development of skills required to provide impactful feedback and motivate teams effectively. Learners explore how to deliver timely feedback, identify key motivators, and develop tailored motivational approaches to align with both individual and organizational goals.		Sep 2

This course is designed to support the development of leadership skills by aligning authority with organizational values to build trust, respect, and engagement. Learners explore how consistent actions, clear communication, and strategic delegation contribute to stronger teams and organizational efficiency.		Sep 30
Leading with Integrity
This course is designed to provide learners with an opportunity to assess and present their leadership progress by reflecting on their experiences and feedback. Learners explore the impact of decisions and change management on leadership effectiveness and set actionable goals for future growth.		Oct 28

This program now includes a personal profile evaluation using the Profile Evaluation System (PES) with an individual one-on-one consult.

The Profile Evaluation System gives you insight into your own mental aptitudes and personality traits—key factors that influence how you work, learn, and grow. By completing a quick online assessment, you help employers and yourself understand the strengths you bring to a role and the environments where you’re most likely to thrive.

Your results highlight both your natural talents and areas for development. This helps organizations match you with opportunities that fit your abilities and interests, while also supporting your long-term growth as you move into roles where you can excel.

Participant Commitment

  • 8 days of in-class instruction over an 8-month period
  • Attend weekday classes from 9am - 3pm
  • Participation in classroom discussion and presentations

Certification

Upon successful completion of the prescribed curriculum, the student will receive a certificate of participation in Strategic Leadership.

Admission Requirements

Working professionals, managers, aspiring managers, new leaders, or individuals with demonstrated leadership potential.

Payment of course fees will be due a week before the first class. We accept cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard, E-Transfer, Money Order or cheque payable to New Brunswick Community College (NBCC).

Participants must be a domestic applicant (Permanent resident or Canadian Citizenship).

Withdrawal/Refunds: Requests for withdrawal from Continuing Education courses must be made within 20% of course duration. Refunds may take 4-6 weeks to process. An administrative fee may apply.
