Help Power the Future!

Be Part of New Brunswick's Clean Energy Transition

As New Brunswick continues to build out its renewable energy grid, including wind and solar generation, energy storage systems are essential to keeping electricity flowing.

This system requires energy storage installation professionals to build and maintain a the system now and in the future. These skilled workers ensure that clean energy is available when and where it's needed most.

NBCC is proud to launch the Energy Storage Installation microcredential—a part-time, 45-hour training program that prepares you to design, install, commission, and maintain battery-based energy storage systems, integrated with renewable energy sources.

What You'll Learn

Energy storage is transforming how we power our communities. Program participants will gain the following skills:

  • Planning: Understand the principles and planning of energy storage projects
  • Design: Learn system sizing, configuration, and performance considerations
  • Installation: Gain practical skills for safe, code-compliant system installs
  • Commissioning: Test and verify systems for operational readiness
  • Decommissioning: Safely remove and recycle end-of-life battery systems
  • Operations & Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and optimize system performance

Curriculum is aligned with the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners® (NABCEP®) competencies—preparing you to write the NABCEP® Energy Storage Installation Professional (ESIP) certification exam.
