Melissa Benoit and her students are drug crime fighters. Here’s the scoop: Canadians, trying to save money on a wide variety of medications, are shopping online at pharmacies that list a Canadian address as a home base. But increasingly these sites are fronts for organized crime located elsewhere in the world. To combat this, Benoit’s students researched the issue, created Health Canada-approved brochures for Moncton-area hospitals and held lunch-and-learn sessions to give people the hard facts on drug safety.
