Portfolio Assembly Guide (Post-Graduate Programs)

NBCC is committed to lifelong learning, and we understand that experience matters. At NBCC we recognize that learning happens inside and outside of the classroom, and we want to ensure your education and work experience are considered in the admissions process. Applications accompanied by a Post-Graduate Applicant Portfolio will be assessed on various factors that show preparedness for rigorous post-graduate-level studies. Be prepared to provide evidence of relevant accomplishments to meet an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

This page provides step-by-step guidelines for assembling a portfolio as required for post-graduate applications based on both education and non-formal/experiential learning. Post-graduate applicants must meet the standard formal admissions requirements (though they may meet these in many ways). We will assess your application, considering all aspects of your prior learning and work experience.

We will focus on the following:

  • Evidence that the applicant has researched the program for which they are applying.
  • Relevant work experience and/or training linked to entrance requirements and or program of study.
  • Secondary or post-secondary education already acquired which can be applied toward the program of choice.
