Jill Stairs

Position: Vice-Chair 023-2024; ex officio member of Audit Committee; NBCC Alumna

Date of Appointment: August 11, 2021

Education: Chartered Professional Accountant designation, BBA from University of New Brunswick, Computer Programming Technology Diploma from NBCC.

Experience: Jill has past experience in both the information technology and energy sectors. In 2008, she moved into public practice and is a partner at the accounting firm Daye Kelly & Associates.

Behind the Scenes: Jill has served on several not-for-profit boards and committees, benefitting a variety of causes. She and her husband both grew up in the Fredericton area and are happy to be raising their two daughters in the community. Her personal and professional goal is to build strong, meaningful relationships that make the community a better place to live and work.

Jill on NBCC: NBCC offers opportunities for people to fulfill their potential and utilize their strengths, allowing them to make a significant contribution to the province’s overall growth and prosperity. It’s important that post-secondary institutions build on their individual strengths and offer students choices in areas of specialization. NBCC has a range of programs that reflect the diversity within regions and our economy.  As an NBCC graduate, my diploma was a springboard early in my career to employment, which led to further education and professional accreditations, and fueled a passion for life-long learning.  I feel fortunate to be in a position to give back to NBCC by serving on the Board of Governors.
