Wireless/Wifi Access

NBCC offers two options to connect your device to the Wifi Network. In most cases Option 1 should work for you, however if you are unable to connect your device, Option 2 will also work.

Option 1 - Permanent Connection

This option should work for devices using Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, as well as Mac OSX and the more current versions of Apple IOS and Android.

Important: You MUST be on campus for this setup process.

If you are currently on campus and connected to the NBCC-GetStarted wireless network, then skip to step 3

  1. While on campus, connect to the NBCC-GetStarted wifi network. (You may already have done this if you are reading this page from campus).
  2. Open a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) and go to http://itstartshere.nbcc.ca. Follow the links until you get to this current page you are reading.
  3. Click the “Setup Wireless Connection” button below and follow the instructions. Your username is your student ID number. For example, 123456. Your password is the password you chose when you activated your NBCC account.

Option 2 - Hotspot Connection

This option should work on all devices that have a web browser installed.

Note: On this connection, printing will only work via the Papercut portal at webprint.nbcc.ca

To connect, follow these steps

  1. From your device, connect to NBCC-Hotspot wireless network.
  2. Open a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) and go to a ‘non-https’ page like tsn.ca . You will be redirected to a login page. On smartphones/tablet devices, a webpage may automatically be launched as soon as you connect to NBCC-Hotspot.  If not, open a web browser and go to a ‘non-https’ page like tsn.ca and you will be redirected to a login page.
  3. Enter your username (your student ID) and password in the appropriate fields and click on the Submit button.
