Course Description: This course is designed to examine the theoretical principles of flight and the factors that affect flight performance. Students learn the components of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), their functions, principles of operation, typical errors and malfunctions as well as the standard maintenance practices required of them. It prepares students to navigate, plan, and operate a remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS). Students investigate the impact of human and environmental factors on RPAS operations and are introduced to the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and radiotelephony/communications protocols pertaining to Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). In this course, students also undertake simulation exercises to practice the knowledge and skill being acquired.
