Course Overview

This course provides the basic techniques and skills needed to create engineering drawings using a computer-aided drafting software – AutoCAD.

  • Reinforce the use of CAD tools and techniques to optimize drawing accuracy and efficiency
  • Navigate the CAD interface and workspace
  • Control drawing display with model space and paper space
  • Create sheet sets with title block and scaled viewports
  • Adhere to drafting practices as pertains to line type, line weight, lettering and numbering, scale, positioning and orientation
  • Produce plotted drawings using CAD software
  • Create tables and schedules
  • Construct orthographic and multi-view drawings by applying CAD techniques
  • Generate blocks and symbols

Participants must be at least 16-years old, unless otherwise noted.

Books are available at the bookstore, prices quoted are approximate. The same payment methods listed above are accepted. There are no refunds for textbooks or materials.

Withdrawal/Refunds: Requests for withdrawal from Continuing Education courses must be made within 20% of course duration. Refunds may take 4-6 weeks to process. An administrative fee may apply.
