Basic Agronomy Workshop (AGRI1033A)
Start Date: TBD

This workshop provides learners with an overview of basic agronomy. Participants will learn the basics of soil and water, nutrient management, pest management, and crop management. Topics include basic soil physical and biological characteristics, irrigation, drainage, water quality, soil and tissue analysis and interpretation, fertilizers and other nutrient sources, soil pH and liming, pest identification, sampling, and management, cropping systems, planting practices, crop growth and development.

Farm Safety Workshop (AGRI1031A)
Start Date: TBD

This workshop provides learners with an overview of hazards present on a farm and proper safety measures. Participants will learn about Provincial regulations, safe practices regarding machinery (e.g., tractors, mobile equipment, tools, lockout), ergonomy, and how to safely work in various building and/or structures.

Pesticide Certification (HORT1019B)

The one day pesticide training session covers the material from the Pesticide Applicator Training manual to prepare the applicant for writing the examination.
