Mature Applicants

NBCC supports life-long learning. Do you qualify as a mature applicant?

  • You are at least 21 years of age and do NOT meet admission requirements for your program choice
  • You can provide proof of industry skills or related experience to compensate for the lack of pre-requisite/s
  • You can provide a resume and references as per the Mature Applicant pathway application process
  • You have completed the Mature Student Admission Application Form (available below)
  • Upload your resume, references, and application here
Excludes Practical Nurse Program and may exclude other accredited programs due to association standards.

Please note that the Mature Applicant process is not available to International applicants at this time.

How do I get started?

There is a two-step process for Mature Applicants:

Step 1: Once you decide on the program(s) of your choice, you must first apply online with our regular application found at how-to-apply.

Step 2: You must complete the Mature Student Admission Application Form (see instructions below) and send it to NBCC Admissions.

What else do I need to know?

  • Life experience matters! If you completed previous post-secondary courses or acquired program/course-related work experience, you may be eligible for credit transfer or formal recognition through our RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) program.
