Your Gift, Your Way

There are several ways you can help to make a difference in the life of a student. Your options include a gift of cash, equipment or an in-kind gift, a legacy gift through planned giving, a memorial gift and more.

Gifts of Cash

A gift of cash can be made to NBCC and can be directed or unrestricted.

Directed: gifts which can be used to support scholarships and bursaries; go to a specific fund, a specific campus or a specific program. A gift to support a scholarship or bursary helps ensure more students have access to the education they want.  A scholarship, bursary or award can mean the difference between a dream realized or a dream deferred. To contribute to existing scholarships and bursaries or to create a new opportunity, please contact us at giving@nbcc.ca for more information.

Unrestricted: gifts which allow the College to use the funds in the area of greatest need.

All gifts of cash are eligible for a Canadian charitable tax receipt.

Contact us at giving@nbcc.ca for more information.

Gift of Equipment/In-Kind Gifts

NBCC programs excel due, in part, to the excellent hands on learning opportunities provided throughout the program. Many of our programs have equipment needs to ensure training is relevant and meets industry standards for certifications. Contact us at giving@nbcc.ca to discuss program equipment needs.

Additional non-cash gifts of services or physical assets (artwork, books, real estate or other personal property ) may be accepted to enhance student learning opportunities. Contact us at giving@nbcc.ca for further information on providing non-cash gifts.

A tax receipt for the fair market value on the date that the gift is received by NBCC (to be determined by one or more professional appraisers) will be issued. Note that a gift of professional services does not qualify under The Canadian Income Tax Act for a tax receipt.

Legacy Gift through Planned Giving

A planned future gift can be made to NBCC through a bequest, life insurance policy or other planned giving instrument. Contact us at giving@nbcc.ca for details on how you can provide a lasting legacy through a planned gift to NBCC.

Memorial Gifts

Memorial gifts can be made in memory of a student, staff or loved one and allows others to share and contribute to the lasting memory of someone with a special connection to NBCC. Memorial gifts can be directed, unrestricted or named for a specific individual. NBCC will work closely with the family to establish a memorial and provide recognition of gifts in memory. Contact giving@nbcc.ca for more information.

Gift of Stock

A transfer of stock can be made from your financial institution to NBCC. Gifts of stock are exempt from capital gains. Contact giving@nbcc.ca for more information.
