NBCC partners with Salesforce University Academic Alliance

FREDERICTON – New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is teaming up with the Salesforce Academic Alliance Program to provide valuable Salesforce skills to its students — the first Atlantic Canadian post-secondary education institution to enter into a partnership with the Salesforce program.

The Salesforce Academic Alliance Program partners with leading universities, colleges and non-profit organizations to deliver Salesforce skills training to students and employees around the world. Through a combination of instructor-led offerings from Salesforce University and classroom materials, coursework, personalized training and a supportive instructor community, the Academic Alliance program’s goal is to prepare the next generation of trailblazers with in-demand job skills.

The partnership announced today will see NBCC provide in-depth opportunities through customized training programs and as a second-year elective.

“NBCC is committed to helping learners achieve their career aspirations and meeting the needs of employers and labour markets,” said Marilyn Luscombe, NBCC President and CEO. “Partnerships with industry leaders such as Salesforce are important in ensuring that our programs are relevant to today’s job opportunities.”

“The Salesforce ecosystem will produce nearly 2 million jobs between now and 2020, according to IDC, and we’re excited to help prepare NBCC students with valuable Salesforce skills to thrive in today’s digital economy,” said Sundar Nagarathnam, senior vice president, Salesforce University.

NBCC’s Academic Alliance with Salesforce will help prepare New Brunswickers for job opportunities in information technology and support the continued growth of New Brunswick’s IT sector.

"New Brunswick has a long-standing relationship with Salesforce and a solid ecosystem of companies and government organizations who are either using Salesforce platforms, or introducing them in the near future," said Stephen Lund, CEO of Opportunities NB. "The addition of Salesforce training at NBCC is an important step in developing a highly skilled workforce that can take advantage of job opportunities in the New Brunswick IT sector."
